So, I was reminded once again this evening that I need to learn the meaning of the word “relax.” I got off the computer earlier to take a bubble bath. I was feeling overwhelmed and felt a relaxing bath might help. So, I headed to my bathroom. I even started setting up the tub for the bath. I was just about to start the water when the mess around me caught my attention. A mess is a normal part of moving, right?

Suddenly, I found myself organizing things in the bathroom. I started with the make-up. I don’t wear much make-up so I’ve never kept it very organized. Make-up is one of those things that comes out for a nice outing for me. It’s not part of my day-to-day routine. That being said, my make-up looked like this:

I debated putting it into the new drawer like that until a thought came to me. I had seen a drawer organizer that was unused in the office boxes earlier! I headed the short distance to the office and grabbed the organizer.  After a little arranging, my make-up looked like this:

This was much more visually appealing to me. Everything is in a nice place and can be found easily. Then, I slid it to the back of the drawer since it’s not used very often and these are deep drawers!

The next step was to figure out what could go well in the drawer with the make-up. Make-up is like paint for the face, so why not throw the fingernail polish in there as well! It’s paint for the fingers and toes. I do use these more often, so they would be okay up front.

I laid everything out on the counter and discovered I had a lot of fingernail stuff! I had 7-8 clippers alone. Who needs that many? My mom joked that I was trying to get one for each finger. Needless to say, I cleaned some of this out before putting it in the drawer. The finished drawer is below. I’m not entirely happy with the nail polish section, so there’s a GOOD chance it will be rearranged again.

At least it is all in one place for now. I set out to relax in a bubble bath and ended up organizing things instead. All in all, I must say I accomplished my goal. I felt more relaxed after tackling something. Especially when I realized I remembered to take pictures as I went and I could use those for the blog!!

“I have so much chaos in my life, it’s become normal. You become used to it. You have to just relax, calm down, take a deep breath and try to see how you can make things work rather than complain about how they’re wrong.” – Tom Welling
