I took Ella on a doggie date today with a good friend’s dog. The first time she met this dog, she cowered in a corner of the couch and would not move. Today was a bit more successful. Socializing a standoffish dog isn’t easy.
For the record, I’m not sure what has made her standoffish. She has been that way since I adopted her when she was a year old. Once she knows you, she can’t leave you alone for a second. However, a first meeting brings out her standoffishness. (Is that even a word?)
Now for the pictures!
Here is Ella in the backseat excited to be going somewhere:
Once Ella found a couch to stay on, she was happy. She did watch Shadow the entire time though which is an improvement!
Here is Shadow, her playmate of the day. He wanted to play with her so bad but couldn’t figure out why she didn’t want to play.
He’s eyeballing his new toy as V holds it out for him.
Enjoying the new toy! This toy actually intrigued Ella too.
She continued to watch him from the loveseat, but no longer seemed upset to be there.
Eventually she found a window and all was lost. My furbaby loves windows and watching things outside.
