One of the hardest parts of long distance dating or being apart due to deployments is the holidays, even the ones you don’t typically celebrate. This is the second year in a row that we won’t be together for Valentine’s Day. I don’t typically have a desire to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the way that most couples do, so I don’t mind it too much. What I do mind is that we don’t get to choose to “not celebrate it.” Instead, it’s forced onto us due to life and circumstances. It’s always better when you get to make choices about your own life.
I know there are many couples out there that are apart for Valentine’s Day and would like to celebrate it. I also love playing with graphics, as you well know. As a result, I have created six cards that you can gift to your significant other this year if you’re apart. Or, if you’re feeling really gutsy and lovey-dovey, gift them all of the cards!
You can save each card separately to your computer by right-clicking and selecting “Save picture as…” or you can download all of the cards in the free printable at the end of the post!
This one let’s your significant other know that you’ll celebrate the holiday in the future!
This one let’s your Valentine know that you’re missing them!
Another card to say “I miss you!”
Reschedule Valentine’s Day until he’s back! Nothing says you can’t enjoy the holiday on a different day!
I got creative with the typical old poem for this one!
This is the card I’ll probably use since I don’t really want to celebrate Valentine’s Day but I would love to celebrate our love when he returns!
