This is the time of year when I treat myself to a new pair of boots. My brown boots from last year are starting to show their age, so I have the perfect excuse to replace them. I can’t wait for boot weather to get here!
2. Jump in a pile of leaves.
I’m not sure where I’m going to find a pile of leaves, but this seems like a necessary part of fall. I may have to settle for fake leaves knowing my luck.
3. Go to a pumpkin patch or fall festival.
I’ll be spending part of the season in Charleston with my family. One of the things on my to do list is spending time with my nephew. I didn’t get to go to the pumpkin patch with him last year so I’m hoping that I get to take him this year.
4. Decorate for fall.
I’ve already bought some decorations (thank you Dollar Tree & Target), but I’m waiting to put them out until the first day of fall. I’ll be sure to find my great bargains with you in the coming weeks.
5. Have a bonfire.
This one goes along with the pile of leaves. Fall screams the right time for bonfires and I’m hoping that I can enjoy one with friends or family at some point during the season.
6. Find the perfect costume for Halloween.
My birthday is exactly one week from Halloween. I love costumes. Put both of these together and you can see why this one is on my list of things to do! I’m debating a costume party for my birthday. Do you have any suggestions for the perfect costume?
7. Go to a Renaissance Faire.
One of my favorite things to do when I lived in Charleston was the Carolina Renaissance Faire. It comes to Charlotte in October and November and is always a fun time. I missed it a lot last year. We went to the Northern California Renaissance Festival last year but it didn’t compare. I’m hoping to make the trip up to the Renaissance Faire this year. I’m so excited that I’ve already been thinking about my costume! (Maybe I’ll finally put my sewing machine to use!)
8. Enjoy the first cup of hot cocoa.
I love when the weather starts to get cold and it becomes acceptable to drink hot cocoa. I have a Starbucks gift card that is just waiting for that moment when I can use it on the first cup of hot cocoa of the season.
