With the temperatures in the eighties and nineties this week, summer is on my mind. It’s also approaching rather quickly and suddenly. I wanted to take a moment to share my list of things you’ll need this summer.

Summer is the perfect time for new adventures and lots of relaxing. The items I’ve included on this list will help you do just that. There’s only one essential that you won’t see listed and that’s a swimsuit! I figure that one’s a given since swimsuits are usually associated with summer.

1. Sunscreen (safety first!)

We’ll start with safety first. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you that too much sun can be dangerous. That’s why it’s important to stock up on sunscreen. (That reminds me – I need to get a new bottle for this year!) You might also want a little after sun lotion. I’ve shared my favorites below!


2. Books

I love reading a book while sitting at the pool or at the beach. While I love a good print book, I’ve actually found that I enjoy the Kindle just as much. I love that it has brightness adjustment that allows you to read the screen even when it’s sunny out. 3. Swim Accessories

I’m grouping these together because they might be different for everyone. My swim accessories include flip flops, a towel, and a swimsuit cover up.  I’ve picked out a few of my favorites below. I’m currently searching for a new swimsuit cover up. (Keep in mind these are wish list items – a few are out of my price range but I’m searching for similar ones.)


4. Cute bag

You need something to keep all of your great summer items in. I recommend finding a cute beach bag or large purse that you can use to keep it all together.

5. A Great Workout Program

This is the item I’m most excited about for the summer. If you follow my fitness account on Instagram, you’re probably not surprised that I’m excited about a workout program. I love trying out new programs, which is why I’m excited for this summer. I’ve been invited to try out the Bikini Ready Challenge which starts June 1st. This sounds like it’s going to be a great challenge with workouts and nutrition support. My gym memberships are ending and I’ve been looking for a program that I can take with me when we move. That’s why I’m so excited about this challenge! It’s not connected to a gym. Instead, all of the support is online!  That means I can access it anywhere, anytime, and at my own pace.
