Life is bringing about a lot of changes for me right now. I don’t know why all these major changes are coming at once, but I’m trying my best to embrace them and the possibilities they may bring. Most of these changes are out of my control and I’m determined to make the best of them.
A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend headed for California (note: all the way across the country) without me. We will be spending one year apart since he was reassigned to a new base and I have work commitments here. This will be my first time trying a long distance relationship.
I decided that it was time to move out of my large three bedroom apartment and into a smaller one bedroom apartment. It will force me to downsize my belongings (in case I move to California in a year) and it will save me money every month. When I moved into this apartment, it was with my sister. Three bedrooms was perfect for two girls. However, it’s too big for one girl and her dog. I move in about 17 days so I’m in the midst of packing and getting down to the bare necessities in my apartment. The bathroom was packed today. Amazing how all of the cabinets (I have a nice big bathroom) fit into one container.
This last change was unexpected. I was told on the last day of school that I will be switching grade levels at work. I kept hoping I would have something to keep me busy next year while I try out the long distance relationship. I guess I found something to keep me busy – learning a new grade level.
Oh the adventures that next year should bring! New apartment and a new classroom all at the same time.
