They say you should write what you know. The thing I have always wondered is who is the “they” and why do we always listen to them?

In any case, I’m halfway listening to them for my Camp Nano novel. My goal is to get this particular novel written in the month of July. I have several other goals for the month as well so we’ll see if I can accomplish them all.

I hope for this to be my first novel written completely by myself. It is going to be young adult fantasy. The premise of the story is two sisters who live in separate worlds and have never met before. One sister lives in a future version of America and the other sister lives in a fantasy world complete with magic and other fairy tale elements. They eventually meet and have to work together to save themselves and others.

Does that seem vague to you? It does to me too. There are two reasons it seems vague. The first reason is I haven’t started writing it yet so the pieces of the puzzle are still fitting together in my head. The second reason is that I’m only going to give away certain details online before it’s finished. I don’t want anyone stealing my creative work. 🙂

Do you want to know more about it? Do you think it sounds like something you could enjoy reading? Let me know! You can leave your information in the comments or email me at stolenmomentspam@gmail.com. I will be looking for beta readers to give me feedback. Beta readers get the fun of previewing a story and giving their reactions so that the author can make it better.

Do you want to follow my novelling adventure? I’ve posted the link to my Camp Nano page in the sidebar. You can also click on the picture above to get there!!

Help cheer me on as I take on the task of writing a novel in July!
