So sorry I’ve been MIA lately! The beginning of the school year is always a bit crazy when you’re a teacher. You have no idea the amount of work that goes into setting up a classroom! (Unless you’re a teacher or know one well of course!)
Let’s make an update of what’s been going on in my life and then we can get back to normal posting soon! (By September at the latest!)
First up:
I got to go see the Killers in concert! I have always wanted to see them in concert, so I was stoked when Bestie K offered me the ticket. We had the best time. They truly do give a great concert!
It was an awesome night in the middle of a stressful week – the first week back to work. There was so much to do, but I’m glad I took the break to go have some fun!
Up next: The Classroom!
I had so much fun moving to a new classroom and redecorating it. My theme was originally pirates and somehow evolved to nautical. I will be posting lots more pictures over at Moments to Teach soon if you’re interested in seeing more. Here’s a few for your viewing pleasure though:
I have received so many compliments on my room this year that it’s made me a happy girl. 🙂 One teacher even said it seemed like a little apartment in my room. Yay for good decorating! I absolutely love walking into it in the mornings. It definitely fits me.
I have tried several new things lately and will be blogging about them in upcoming posts, but I thought I’d share a creation I made for Meet the Teacher night since we’re on the topic of school. I let my crafty side come out for this one. Mom hated me by the end of making these!
I wanted to serve cupcakes at Meet the Teacher night. I love baking and I figured it’d be something fun for the kids. However, we just got new carpets (don’t they look pretty in the pictures above?) and I didn’t want to have something spilled on the carpet before school even starts. So, I invented cupcakes to go. The pictures are below and I’ll share a tutorial in an upcoming post. They were a huge hit! Kindergarten teachers came down the hall later just to see the cute boxes that were coming to their room as siblings visited their teacher.
For now, have a happy weekend! I’m off to post classroom pictures on my teaching blog and then to get creative with Publisher!
I LOVE THE KILLERS.
We were totally meant to be blog friends (except that you are infinitely more crafty than I am).
Your room is so cute! Compliments totally deserved!
Hahah, that confetti! Those lights look super cool, too!
