This has been such an interesting week for me. It started with a rough weekend (no details on that one as it has been resolved now). This rough weekend ended with my dog getting a bacterial infection. Sunday night, I was up every hour taking her out. (She normally sleeps through the night just fine!) A sleepless Sunday night makes for a really rough Monday, especially when you add a vet bill on top!

She’s enjoying a down day relaxing and getting better.

The weekend was weird enough on its own. Then, they started talking about Winter Storm Pax and how we were possibly going to be getting ice. Sure enough, we have gotten ice! Enough to have a day out of school and icy trees surrounding my apartment.

So much ice everywhere!

This is the second time this year that we have faced an ice storm.  For most areas of the country, that isn’t a big deal. For us, one winter storm is rare. Two is completely bizarre. It makes me wonder what the weather holds for us the rest of the year.

I think they may be just as long as last time!

While I’ll have a lot of catching up to do at work, I am enjoying the down day to lounge around. It has given me a lot of time to catch up on blogs I enjoy and to discover new ones. It has also given me time to think about my own a little.

Around the beginning of the year, I decided that I wanted to change a few things on my blog, including the title of it (I discovered too many other things with the same name as mine!) and the layout. I love my scrabble tiles, but I’m ready for something slightly different.

I love the look of ice on the trees. I just hope they don’t fall from all of the ice.

Today, I decided that I should start working on making these improvements now that my schedule has leveled out a little. I will be continuing with my February love posts (which I’ll be adding another installment to my online dating adventures later today). However, I’ll also be working on some changes for the blog that will go live in March. Keep an eye out for these exciting new things!

Perfect lunch for an ice day – tomato soup and cheese sandwiches.
