Happy October! This is a great month that holds many great things. It brings the promise of cooler weather with pumpkins and changing leaves. It’s birthday month for my husband and me. And it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is what we’re going to talk about today.
There are very few of us out there that have no connection to breast cancer. I would say that most know someone with breast cancer by the time they are 21. Personally, I know a few. Some of these I know directly, others I know through their connection to friends. Each story has touched me in a different way. I’m not going to disclose a story today though out of respect for those around me who are battling breast cancer – I know that they would like to continue on with their lives.
Instead, I’m going to talk about the importance of remembering those breast cancer all throughout the year. In a nutshell, it’s something that should be a part of our everyday lives – not just our lives in October. I know that there are lots of great organizations that do things for breast cancer research in the month of October and that’s great. I’m more excited to have found the organization Not Just October
Not Just October is an organization formed by Lavar that is launching this month! He is doing several great things to help with the fight against breast cancer. You can check him out on twitter
to find out more about this organization. You can also check back here later this week for an interview from him! There will also be a giveaway coming this week!
