Today’s Bloggy Brunch is going to be filled with lots of news – both good and bad. With that being said, I’m super excited about the direction that Bloggy Brunch is headed and I think you’ll be excited as well. Don’t worry – all of the details of the news, both good and bad, are listed below!
I’m going to start with the bad news so that we can get it out of the way first. I’m a big believer in facing the bad and moving on from it as quickly as possible. No need to dwell on bad things after all. It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Raewyn from Be a Warrior Queen will be stepping down from hosting the brunch each week. She has taken on some new projects, including Shield Sisters Initiative, and feels that this is what’s best for her at the moment. We wish her well in all of her new endeavors and I’m betting we’ll still see her linking up with Bloggy Brunch from time to time!
Now we can get onto the good news, which is two fold today.
The first piece of exciting news is that we now have an opening for one or two more hosts for the link up. If you think co-hosting Bloggy Brunch is something that you’d love to do, then please get in touch with me at hodgepodgepam@gmail.com. There is a time commitment with Bloggy Brunch but it’s not a huge, overwhelming one. When you get in touch, we’ll talk all of the details before you commit to anything.
Nora from The Petite Mrs will still be hosting the link up with me and we’ve decided to take brunch a step further! When we first created this link up, the goal was to give bloggers a place where they could socialize and get to know each other better. We’ve loved all of the participation in the link up, but it isn’t offering the social aspect that we’d like. So, we’re going to be introducing the #bloggybrunch twitter party! The party will take place every Sunday at 2pm EST (11am PST). All you’ll have to do is show up to Twitter, use the hashtag, and interact with other bloggers. Brunch is all about socializing so you can expect a lot of social topic starters!
I bet you’re wondering why we picked 2pm EST. Well, when we first started talking about this party, the first question that popped into my head was “What time is brunch typically?” I couldn’t answer it and neither could Google (at least not to my satisfaction), so I took to my Facebook friends. I was surprised by the number of responses I got for such a simple question. In the end, the consensus seemed to be that brunch was from 10am or 11am until 1pm or 2pm. Since Nora and I are now in different time zones, I found a compromise and went with 11am for the pacific coast, which is 2pm for the eastern coast. This seemed like a doable time for us (and hopefully for you!).
I’ll be featuring blogs again next week, but until then, I hope you’re as excited as we are for the changes coming to Bloggy Brunch! We also hope you’ll take this as your formal invitation to join us on August 14th at 2pm EST as we kick off the first #bloggybrunch twitter party!
P.S. I’m so excited to join the Shield Sisters Initiative’s #ilovemybizbestie Instagram campaign! We are going to fill your feed with so much positivity and bestie love! Did I mention we are all entered to win a membership to their coaching club? AWESOMESAUCE! Head on over to my Instagram to join in!
