Happy October! We’re going to affectionately refer to this month as “birthday month” since my husband and I both celebrate our birthdays this month. In honor of birthday month, I decided to focus on the number 31. After all, I’m turning 31 this year and there are 31 days in the month. Give this little detail, it only seems fitting to join the Write 31 Days challenge. It’s a busy month so some of my posts may be short, but I’m going to attempt to share something small each and every day this month.
For Write 31 Days, you’re supposed to pick a single topic to focus on during the month. I’ve chosen to focus on the topic of “simple,” which is my focus of the month (more on that in tomorrow’s goals link up). I’m going to be sharing my journey of simplifying my home, blog, business, and life in general. My goal is to free up some time by making life a bit simpler. Essentially, I’m ditching the bells and whistles in order to focus on the things that matter most.
One of the areas that needs to be more simple is my housekeeping. I’ve spent the last year decluttering and downsizing our belongings. While I was going through this process, I focused on the following questions to help me determine what should stay and what should go.
Now that we have less “stuff,” I’m going to be focusing on organizing and creating systems to keep things in order. My goal is to have systems in place that work for the entire family. In addition to this, I also want to get systems in place for my blogs and business so that I can feel a little less overwhelmed.
I do hope that you’ll check in each day to see how I’m progressing with my journey towards a more simple, intentional life!
What systems do you have in place that work great for you? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
