Do you pick a word of the year? Have you picked your word for 2018 yet? If not, I recommend sticking around to the end of this post where I give a massive list of words you could use. Not familiar with the concept of picking a word of the year? Keep reading and this post will explain it a little.

I was first introduced to the concept of a word of the year in 2016. It was a concept that was circling through the blogging groups that I belonged to and I was incredibly intrigued by the concept. Basically, you pick a word of the year to go along with your goals. Your word should represent your focus for the year.

The first year, I tried picking a word and just couldn’t find one that fit. It seemed as though each one was just a tad bit too small or too focused for my life at the time. So, I chose to modify the concept and make it my own. Instead of picking a word of the year, I chose to pick a different word each month. This proved to work quite well for me. I loved having one focus for each month of the year and found that it motivated me in a variety of ways.

For 2017, I decided I would hop on the word of the year bandwagon and pick one for the entire year. I knew that my son was going to be born and that I was going to be journeying down a new path filled with many changes. I picked LOVE as my word of the year because I wanted everything I did to be done out of love. Overall, I’d say it was a good pick for this year.

What will be your word of the year?
